This talk will be divided into two parts: The first part involves our interest in the search of organic reactions in water that work under biocompatible conditions. The reactions discovered in our group were used to bioconjugate biomolecules with small organic compounds. In the second part, I will go through some of our recent work focusing on the coupling of two different alkenes to generate dienes. This newly developed methods were applied to the synthesis of complex natural products.
